Air Force Academy

At the request of the investor, a project was carried out for the reconstruction of the facility for the implementation of practical classes within the Aviation Academy, floor space P+1, at KP no. 53/1, KO Stari grad, Belgrade. During the development of the project, the project of the Conceptual solution for the reconstruction, adaptation and rehabilitation of the Air Force Academy building, made in 2015 by the CIP Traffic Institute from Belgrade, was used. The building was built around 1925 as a free-standing building, and had the function of a foundry. It was later converted into a school building. The subject of the reconstruction is the adaptation of the building to the new technological requirements of the school, bearing in mind that it is about specialized programs in the field of training future personnel in the field of aviation. The building of the Air Force Academy is significant to the extent that its architectural form illustrates the time in which the industrial construction method was affirmed, as opposed to the previous manufacturing construction. In addition to public buildings, it was characteristic for industrial ones as well, primarily with the introduction of steel as the primary structural element, which created an authentic method of prefabricated construction. The new solution maintains the existing construction approach, respecting the new needs of the school.
