NATURLA PARK “RADAN” VISITORS CENTER

The facility was built in the 1930s and was used for meetings, accommodation and dining for the workers of the Forestry “Toplica” from Kuršumlija. The concept of reconstruction, extension and adaptation of the building foresees: bringing the existing basement within the framework of usability from the point of view of existing laws and regulations, rebuilding the ground floor within the framework of the existing dimensions from modern and stable materials, as well as adding part of the building in accordance with the required capacities of the investor. The newly planned facility would have the same storey as the existing one, which is basemet+ground level.

The architectural design of the building is coordinated with the existing building in terms of respect for folk architecture, and everything is in accordance with the provisions of the Spatial Plan of the Radan Special Purpose Area. The basement facade is made of crushed stone, while the ground floor facade is plastered with additions of wooden cladding. A multi-pitched sloping roof with an eaves of 1.15 m and visible wooden consoles in combination with pergolas that can be entwined with vines in the future, will give the building a special stamp of the fifth facade. The building itself, made of stone, wood and quiet parts of the white facade with a dominant eaves, with a log church nearby and a large amount of greenery, will represent a new value system for the development of the entire area around Prolom.
