Family house on Lake Zavoj
The project site is located near Zavoj Lake, in the weekend settlement “Skrivena,” approximately 200 meters from the lake. The parcel intended for construction covers an area of 263 m². The new design proposes the demolition of the existing structure (gross floor area of 31 m²) and the construction of a new building, in accordance with the applicable urban planning parameters, the Location Conditions No. ROP-MSGI-26635-LOC-2/2022 dated 12.10.2022, issued by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, and the Design Review Report No. 350-01-00171/2023-07 dated 01.06.2023.
The architectural design is adapted to the mountain environment, inspired by traditional local architecture. The building is designed using clean, simple forms, with stylized elements of mountain architecture. The facade is articulated using materials that imitate wood and stone, and pronounced roof eaves add depth and rhythm to the volume.
The extended eaves are made of wood, while recessed sections of the building’s main volume are finished in white, partially clad in stone and wood, or in wood-like materials. The sloped roof surfaces, considered the building’s “fifth facade,” are covered with clay tiles.
