National Water Polo Training Center in Vrnjačka Banja

The location intended for the construction of the national water polo training center is located in Vrnjačka Banja. The basic concept envisages the construction of three swimming pools, one of which is Olympic and one intended for beginners and non-swimmers with all accompanying and compatible facilities. An auditorium with a capacity of about 500 seats is planned within the facility. The building’s architecture is modern, compliant with the functional and technical requirements for this type of building. The proposed form results from the functional and constructive conception of the building. The horizontal orientation of the opening on the side facade additionally accentuates the large length of the building, but the verticals in the axes of the columns are used as a vertical architectural element-contrast that divides the building into equal segments and thereby breaks the monotony of the long side facade. The main west facade is designed with a long horizontal glass surface between the masonry surfaces.
The facade canvases are treated with acrylic plaster and thermal panels in different colors, and thus used as an artistic element that sets the building apart from the spatial environment.
