The honorable home of the Mihajlović family, the most significant and undoubtedly the most beautiful town house in Obrenovac, was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century. There are no exact data on the year of construction, but based on the records of Joakim Vujić, who passed through Obrenovac on his trip through Serbia in 1826, it is concluded that the house was already built in 1826.
Basically, the house is rectangular with a gable roof. It consists of a ground floor, a first floor and a basement under part of the building. It was built with wooden “bondruk” with brick filling. The roof has a construction of wooden rafters and beams in the inclined chair system with a covering of pepper tiles attached over wooden slats laid in a “crown slat”.
The main street facade is flat, with pilasters rendered shallowly in plaster. The eastern part had an architraved porch on the ground floor, which is now closed. The facade has a characteristic horizontal cornice with shallowly drawn profiles. The wreath is plastered over the entire width. The courtyard facade is composed with a row on the ground floor and on the first floor, which achieved an extraordinary effect of dispersal. The main crown is, just like on the street facade, in shallow plastic. The windows, of the shutter type, are placed in a row. The doors have fillings and cover locks. An exception is the door on the first floor, made of “inlaid” fillings. The floors in all rooms, depending on the purpose, are made of brick or planks. Chimneys and chimneys were rebuilt and bricked.
